SAVE THE DATE! CAIRNS INDIGENOUS ART FAIR (CIAF) BIG SCULPTURE SHOWCASE 6 - 10 JULY 2022

The Cairns Indigenous Art Fair returns in 2022 will present 18 large scale sculptures to be displayed around the Cairns Convention Centre as part of their inaugural Big Sculpture Showcase.

The project will feature some of Queensland’s most highly regarded Indigenous artists including Brian Robinson, Ian Waldron, Francoise Lane, Paula Savage, Rhonda Woolla and Alcaston Gallery represented artist, Shirley Macnamara.

CIAF 2022 will span five days between Wednesday 6 and Sunday 10 July 2022, featuring the work of approximately 300 visual artists and 150 performers across the multidimensional program of events

SAVE THE DATE! FACELESS: TRANSFORMING IDENTITY CAIRNS ART GALLERY 25 JUNE – 2 OCTOBER 2022

FACELESS: Transforming Identity is an exhibition that challenges established notions of identity and explores ways in which interpretations of identity can be manipulated or redefined by blak/black artists through a revisioning of the face using devices such as embellishment, erasure, and disguise.

Faceless includes the work by thirteen North Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, including Alcaston Gallery represented Shirley Macnamara, and ten African and African Diaspora artists, brings together more than eighty commissioned and recently completed works across a range of art forms and media

SAVE THE DATE! SALLY GABORI MAJOR SOLO SURVEY EXHIBITION AT FONDATION CARTIER POUR L'ART CONTEMPORAIN, PARIS, FRANCE 3 JULY - 6 NOVEMBER 2022

From 3 July - 6 November 2022, the landmark international exhibition presenting a major solo survey of paintings by the late incomparable Sally Gabori will be on show at the distinguished Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris, France. 

The major exhibition and publication will boast a comprehensive overview of the amazing history of the Kaiadilt people and one of Australia’s greatest artists - Sally Gabori.

NATIONAL WORKS ON PAPER PRIZE 2022 - Finalists Announced

 

Congratulations to Tiger Yaltangki who has been shortlisted from almost 900 entries for the National Works on Paper (NWOP) Prize 2022 at the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (MPRG). This $20,000 major acquisitive award supports and promotes contemporary Australian artists working on the medium of paper.

NWOP 2022 will run from 13 August - 27 November 2022 at the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, Victoria.
