Last night Alcaston Gallery was honoured to launch the stunning exhibition Minyma Ngali Ngangkaṟi Kutjara - We Two Women Are Healers presenting new paintings by Betty Muffler and Maringka Burton. The Alcaston Gallery Exhibition Space on William Street looked beautiful and the works were celebrated by a crowd of devoted art lovers admiring the exhibition. 

The exhibition presents individual paintings by both remarkable artists, highlighting their personal strengths and artistic sensibilities, the exhibition features an extraordinary collaborative painting, continuing the distinctive visual aesthetic that resonates with the evolving power of the Ngangkaṟi traditions.  

The exhibition will continue until the 6th of April and is open by appointment Monday to Friday 10 am to 5 pm and open to the public Thursdays 11am to 3pm.

The recently opened iteration of the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain SALLY GABORI solo survey exhibition at the prestigious Triennale di Milano has once again been a tremendous success. Alcaston Gallery Director Beverly Knight, Gallery Manager Adriana Del Medico and Bruce Johnson McLean, Barbara Jean Humphreys Assistant Director, First Nations and Head Curator, First Nations Art, National Gallery of Australia, Canberra alongside the artist’s daughter­ Amanda Gabori Dibirdibi and great-granddaughter Tori Juwarnda attended the opening and other important engagements to launch this important exhibition. 

Congratulations to senior Pitjantjatjara artist, cultural leader and Chairperson at Mimili Maku Arts, South Australia TUPPY NGINTJA GOODWIN who was recently announced as a WINNER of the 2023 Muswellbrook Art Prize at the Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre in Muswellbrook, NSW.

The Exhibition Launch Event and Announcement of Winners took place on Saturday 25 February 2023 and the exhibition will run from 27 February - 29 April 2023. 

Continuing on from the worldwide success of the spectacular SALLY GABORI solo survey exhibition at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain in Paris (3 July - 6 November 2022), which attracted over 85,000 visitors, this landmark exhibition has now travelled to Milan, Italy for its next iteration at the prestigious Triennale di Milano from 16 February - 14 May 2023.

Like the Paris exhibition, the presentation in Milan will boast some thirty monumental paintings by Sally Gabori, including spectacular large scale canvases that punctuated her career, as well as three collaborative paintings done with other Kaiadilt artists, including her daughters.

Amanda Gabori Dibirdibi, one of Sally's daughters and gifted artist in her own right, and great-granddaughter Tori Juwarnda Wilson will travel to Milan alongside Alcaston Gallery Director Beverly Knight, Gallery Manager Adriana Del Medico and Bruce Johnson McLean, Barbara Jean Humphreys Assistant Director, First Nations and Head Curator, First Nations Art, National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, for the exhibition opening events to once more celebrate and rejoice in this tribute to one of Australia’s greatest artists.
