We are excited for the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) to return to the Cairns Convention Centre from 25 - 28 July 2024 with this year's theme being 'Country Speaking'. 

Alcaston Gallery is excited for represented artist Tiger Yaltangki's work to be presented in the forthcoming group exhibition Bendable Realities at Arts Project Australia, as part of their 50 Years celebration s by both Arts Project Australia artists and external artists, creating a dialogue between them including Terry Williams | Tiger Yaltangki, Julian Martin | Roger Walker, Adrian Lazzaro | Clare Milledge, Rebecca Scibilia | Jan Lucas, Bronwyn Hack | Katherine Botten.

The University of Melbourne’s flagship art museum, the Potter Museum of Art ('The Potter') will reopen next year with a major exhibition entitled 65,000 Years: A Short History of Australian Art, which will present over 400 artworks celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art.

This NAIDOC Week 2024, Alcaston Gallery celebrates and recognises the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year's theme Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud celebrates the unyielding spirit of First Nations Australian communities and invites everyone to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced.
