ART & COVID-19 - From the Director
In the final week of Noŋgirrŋa Marawili’s remarkable solo show, Ḏäl-Resilience at Alcaston Gallery, it is clear that this exhibition embodies a universal sentiment amongst all art lovers, as we all do our best to navigate through these uncertain and challenging times together. Now, moreso than any time, I wish to convey a message of gratitude to our incredible artists, art centre staff, and their families. Most artists have been unable to visit their exhibitions across Australia, a n experience that is relished by all artists in previous times of freedom and in turn, reciprocated by our dedicated clients. This exhibition by Noŋgirrŋa Marawili in-situ is simply breathtaking, and this most stunning installation captures her creative spirit that is so significant for a woman of seniority, who has faced so many of life's challenges.
