The 43rd Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAAs) Finalists Exhibition is now open, this highly-anticipated exhibition features works by outstanding First Nations artists, including Alcaston Gallery represented artist Binygurr Wirrpanda with his major metal sculptural work.
CAIRNS INDIGENOUS ART FAIR 2026 | TANKS ARTS CENTRE, 9 - 12 JULY 2026
From 9 - 12 July 2026, Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) will return to the Tanks Arts Centre and sites across Gimuy/Cairns with four days of art, fashion, performance, music and cultural exchange responding to the 2026 theme, Reclamation & Regeneration.
CIAF's 2026 Talks Program, curated by Alcaston Gallery represented artist Tania Major, will go in-depth into artmaking, collecting, promoting, policies and politics, conservation, and artistic authenticity. Keynote speakers include artists, art workers, curators, and art writers both locally and internationally.
NAIDOC WEEK CELEBRATION 2026 | THE IAN POTTER CENTRE: NGV AUSTRALIA, FED SQUARE | 11 JULY, 10AM-5PM
In celebration of NAIDOC Week 2026: 50 Years of Deadly, the National Gallery of Victoria is hosting a day of free festivities honouring the rich history, culture, and accomplishments of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities on Saturday 11th July 10AM-5PM at the Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, Fed Square, Melbourne.
Explore First Nations art and design in free exhibitions, enjoy live music and performances by local First Nations creatives, and meet artists and curators through engaging talks and guided tours. All events are free, all are welcome!
NAIDOC WEEK 2026: 50 YEARS OF DEADLY
This year marks five decades of NAIDOC Week. For 50 years, NAIDOC Week has celebrated the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, recognising their history, culture, and achievements. NAIDOC Week is an opportunitiy for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
