Alcaston Gallery is thrilled to share Cairns Art Gallery's forthcoming exhibition by Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori (c.1920-2015), Munamurra Ngijinda Dulk - My Country. Presented from 13 September - 23 November, this exhibition is Gabori's first major exhibition in the region and marks the gallery's 30 year celebrations.

Alcaston Gallery is proud to share a major forthcoming exhibition by Tania Major, Kowanyama - When Rain Falls, When Earth Sleeps, presented at Cairns Art Gallery from 13 September - 23 November 2025. This is a landmark career achievement, and follows a sell-out debut exhibition at Alcaston Gallery in 2024, cementing Major's position as a rising star of contemporary art.

Alcaston Gallery Directors Beverly and Anthony Knight, and the Alcaston Gallery team are saddened to learn of the passing of Ms D Marika, an incredible artist and important woman of sacred culture. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, community and the artists and staff of Buku-Larrŋgay Mulka.
25TH BIENNALE OF SYDNEY | 14 MARCH - 14 JUNE 2026
The first details of the 2026 Sydney Biennale have just been announced! Celebrating its 25th year in its upcoming presentation, the Biennale will take place from 14 March - 14 June 2026 across historic sites, museums and gallery spaces, including the historic White Bay Power Station. This edition of the Biennale promises to be an extraordinary celebration of contemporary art, with a continued commitment to platforming First Nations voices.
We would also like to congratulate Bruce Johnson McLean as the new Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain First Nations Curatorial Fellow, who will work closely with artists to develop ambitious projects for the upcoming Biennale.

Alcaston Gallery is renowned among collectors worldwide for representing contemporary artists, especially First Nations artists, since 1989. Alcaston Gallery Director Beverly Knight is often called upon to value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artworks and is a registered valuer with the Australian Government.
In this article, Knight draws from over 35 years of experience in art valuation, to explain how values are arrived at but also the rationale and differences collectors will experience. Beverly also covers Investment in Art, the journey of collecting, the joy, and the reality.
