NOW OPEN |PARLINGARRI AMINTIYA NINGANI AWUNGARRA: OLD AND NEW AT JILAMARA ARTS
Currently presented at UNSW Galleries, Sydney, until 10 August 2025, Parlingarri Amintiya Ningani Awungarra: Old and New at Jilamara Arts, is a landmark major survey exhibition of contemporary art from the Tiwi Islands, celebrating artists from Jilamara Arts & Crafts, curated by Jose Da Silva with Jilamara Arts.
The exhibition proudly features newly commissioned and recent works by Walter Brooks, Kaye Brown, Johnathon World Peace Bush, Timothy Cook, Raelene Kerinauia Lampuwatu, Michelle Pulatuwayu Woody Minnapinni, Arthurina Moreen, Janice Murray Pungautiji, Matthew Freddy Puruntatameri, Patrick Freddy Puruntatameri, Conrad Kamilowra Tipungwuti, Columbiere Tipungwuti, Mickey Fogarty Wilson, Dino Wilson and Pedro Wonaeamirri.

65,000 Years: A Short History of Australian Art, is now open, presented at the Potter Museum of Art, University of Melbourne until 23 November.
We were honoured to celebrate the opening of this groundbreaking exhibition, and also had the pleasure of attending a special In Conversation between Alcaston Gallery represented artist Pedro Wonaeamirri and Johnathon World Peace Bush, presented as a part of the exhibition's opening weekend conversations program.

On Saturday 24 May we were thrilled to welcome exhibiting artists Clara Napurrula and Lorna Brown Napanangka into the Alcaston Gallery Exhibition Space to celebrate the launch of Pintupi Women: Now.
We'd like to thank Clara, Lorna Brown, and Papunya Tula Studio Coordinator Cloud Yandle, for making the trip from the Northern Territory to join us for a wonderful afternoon of art and insightful discussion!

On Saturday 10th May 2025 we were honoured to host Binygurr Wirrpanda in the Alcaston Gallery Exhibition Space for a very special Meet the Artist Event and In-Conversation with Judith Ryan AM. The audience was deeply appreciative of Wirrpanda's generous insight into his exhibition Sacred Sisters, sharing of his Yolŋu culture and a surprise Yidaki performance!
Thank you to Binygurr for a Saturday afternoon to remember – we’d also like to sincerely thank his wife Tanya Yunupiŋu and Kate Land from Buku Larrŋgay Mulka art centre, who made the journey with the artist from Yirrkala, NT; and a big thank you to Judith Ryan for an eloquent and astute In-Conversation.
Binygurr Wirrpanda's Sacred Sisters is now in it's final week, closing 17 May. For those yet to view this powerful exhibition, the Alcaston Gallery Space is open Thursday 12-6PM, Monday-Friday 10-5PM by appointment and online 24/7!
