Melbourne Art Fair 2025 - Beyond the Paradigm: Aspirational First Nations Artists
Alcaston Gallery presents an exceptional exhibition at the Melbourne Art Fair 2025, showcasing a curated selection of paintings and sculptures by prominent and emerging Australian First Nations artists Aileen Napaljarri Long, Ada Pula Beasley, Shirley Macnamara, Louise Robertson and Rhonda Sharpe.
These five artists each offer a distinct visual language that reflects and emulates life on Country, with a shared jubilant embrace of colour. Aileen Napaljarri Long, Ada Pula Beasley, Shirley Macnamara, Louise Robertson, and Rhonda Sharpe represent the present and future of First Nations artists in Australia. Bold in composition, fearless in their use of colour, and innovative with form and scale these five women transcend traditional paradigms, and challenge both national and international perceptions of Australian First Nations art.
