REQUEST EXHIBITION PREVIEW

Alcaston Gallery is delighted to present this new series of paintings by celebrated contemporary Australian First Nations artist Nellie Ngampa Coulthard in her fifth solo exhibition at Alcaston Gallery.

Boasting her signature palette of creamy whites, pinks, yellows and oranges synonymous with her practice, Coulthard paints  Yankunytjatjara Country near Oodnadatta, South Australia. Her paintings convey a deep sentimentality, recalling memories of her childhood in Yankunytjatjara Country surrounded by the beautiful and diverse flora of the central and eastern deserts including the evocative Acacia Murrayana Wattle, which has become Coulthard’s signature motif, with its extended branches at the heart of her compositions.
