Sally Gabori selected for WA Indigenous Art Award
Alcaston Gallery is thrilled to announce that Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori has been selected as one of sixteen artists to be featured in the non-acquisitive Western Australian Indigenous Art Award, to be held at the Art Gallery of Western Australia from 1 November 2008 until 11 January 2009.
The Award celebrates the breadth of artistic talent extant in Australia, with a small group of Indigenous artists from across the country selected for the exhibition.

Sally Gabori will be in the running for the $50,000 non-acquisitive Award, or the $5,000 People's Choice Award. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase a concise body of work by Gabori to a Western Australian audience. Alcaston Gallery congratulates Sally Gabori and Mornington Island Arts and Craft, Queensland, on this fantastic and well-deserved recognition.
