| Alcaston Gallery is thrilled to announce that Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori has been selected as one of sixteen artists to be featured in the non-acquisitive Western Australian Indigenous Art Award, to be held at the Art Gallery of Western Australia from 1 November 2008 until 11 January 2009. |

The Award celebrates the breadth of artistic talent extant in Australia, with a small group of Indigenous artists from across the country selected for the exhibition.
Sally Gabori will be in the running for the $50,000 non-acquisitive Award, or the $5,000 People's Choice Award. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase a concise body of work by Gabori to a Western Australian audience. Alcaston Gallery congratulates Sally Gabori and Mornington Island Arts and Craft, Queensland, on this fantastic and well-deserved recognition. |
