Bentinck Island Artists in The Age
The current exhibition at Alcaston Gallery of new paintings by Bentinck Island Artists was featured in The Age on Saturday 20th September 2008. Journalist Jo Chandler wrote of the artistic blooming of the last six Kaiadilt women of Bentinck Island, whose paintings have caused a sensation in the art world in recent years.
Professor Nick Evans, a linguist specialising in the langauge of these artists, has spent 25 years learning the words and stories of the Kaiadilt people. He speaks at 3pm today at Alcaston Gallery, all are welcome.
