Lindsay Harris 2011: Aalidja Boodja (That land there)
Lindsay Harris 2011 Aalidja Boodja (That land there) is being exhibited at Alcaston Gallery from 25 October - 11 November 2011.

Alcaston Gallery, in conjunction with emerge ART SPACE, is extremely excited to once again bring the work of Lindsay Harris to Melbourne, for his second eastern state exhibition, Aalidja Boodja (That land there).

Aalidja Boodja (That land there) will be Lindsay’s seventh solo exhibition of his signature powerful resin and pigment paintings on hemp depicting his country Kwolyin and the stories of his Noongar people, who have lived in parts of Western Australia for at least 45,000 years. They lived in balance with the natural environment; the main source of food and water came from the sea, and the extensive system of freshwater lakes in the area.

Alcaston Gallery congratulates Lindsay on his selection in the upcoming National Indigenous Art Triennial 2012 at the National Gallery of Australia. This prestigious exhibition showcases the top 20 most significant indigenous artists in Australia of the current time considered by curator Carly Lane.
