Acclaimed Indigenous artists Kuruwarriyingathi Bijarrb Paula Paul, Tiger Palpatja, Timothy Cook and Gary Lee were among those recently selected as finalists for the prestigious 2011 Western Australian Indigenous Art Award.
The award announcement was made on Friday 12 August at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. Alcaston Gallery congratulates Gunybi Ganambarr of Buku-Larrnggay Centre, Yirrkala, Northern Territory on winning the Western Australian Indigenous Art Award 2011, and Jan Billycan on winning the Western Australian Artist Award.
Timothy Cook from Jilamara Arts & Crafts, Northern Territory was a highly commended finalist.
