ART
Beverly Knight is the Executive Director of Alcaston Gallery and oversees all aspects of the business including curating exhibitions. She is an active field worker, travelling thousands of kilometres all over Australia sourcing fine Aboriginal art and supporting the development of artists and their art centres.
Her direct relationships with Aboriginal communities, hands-on workshops, and her love, respect and understanding of the artists, their families and cultures that have seen many fledgling artists and groups develop over the last twenty five years.
She is also honoured to be the Patron of Bindi Inc. – Mwerre Anthurre Artists. Bindi Inc. is a cross-cultural collective based in Alice Springs, established more than 20 years ago to provide a wide range of options and services to people with a disability.

• From 2006 Knight was a Member of reference group with NAVA on developing the Code of Conduct for the Indigenous Arts Sector and subsequently a member of the industry reference group conducted by The Australia Council in conjunction with the Australian Government in the drafting of the code. Now operational she was a founding Board member of the company administering the Code called The Indigenous Art Code.
• She resigned her Directorship in November 2010.Beverly and Alcaston Gallery fully supports the fair trade with all artists including Indigenous artist.
• In 2010 -Beverly Knight was appointed to the CAL Resale Royalty industry reference group, which acts to advise the CAL board and administration on the new legislation and its implication for the art industry, introduced in Australia on 8th June 2010.

SPORT
Beverly Knight is actively involved in indigenous sport especially AFL. She has been the guardian mother of six young indigenous boys and girls from the Northern Territory and Tiwi Islands over the past 20 years, enabling them to be educated in Melbourne and support their interest in AFL.

She was a director of AFL Sportsready 1995--2009, and over saw the development of the company to train professional young men and women in all aspects of sport all over Australia. Developing career opportunities for AFL players whilst playing, but also post career has been a focus; so too the successful training of Indigenous young people.
Beverly’s commitment to sport, especially with regards to AFL and the Essendon Football Club, is a family trait. Her late grandfather Tom Stephens was also a director of Essendon, and president of the 2nd eighteen and the Essendon Club.
She was a director of the Essendon Football club 1993 -- 2010 retiring in 2010 after 17 wonderful years. In 2010 she also chaired the Nomination and Governance Committee resulting in her leading the way stepping down, allowing the first appointed Director from a wide range of possible candidates to take their place on the Board.

In 2010 she became the first Essendon Football Club director appointed position on the Tiwi Bombers Football Club Board in Darwin representing the Tiwi players and people from Bathurst and Melville Island in the Northern Territory.In 2010 she also became the Treasurer of the club.
Anthony Knight is a recognised creative talent sought for his public speaking, curatorial and private collection management skills. Currently he hangs all exhibitions for Alcaston Gallery in Melbourne, Sydney and international art fairs, and is chief consultant to the decorative arts Museum Beleura at Mornington, Victoria.
